Quickjack

As a member of the mechanical team of UPenn's FSAE (Formulae Society of Automative Engineers) I collaborated with Eli Gottlieb to design and manufacture a quickjack mechanism for an electric race car for annual competition.

 

The purpose of the device was to allow a single team member to jack up a 400lb car for adjustments to the battery during competition. The bar was also to maneuver car between tracks and pit stations.

I unwrapped the tubes using the SolidWorks Weldments tool, and angle grinded the geometries for welding
